October 1965. Pamplona's troupe of giant figures, a typical sight at the San Fermín festivities, is invited to parade along Fifth Avenue in New York. Black is Beltza tells the story of Manex, who was supposed to carry one of the black giants, banned because of American racial discrimination. Manex, seeking justice, moves to Cuba where he accepts a dangerous mission travelling around the world.
