In 2005 and 2006 we filmed the birth and first year of life of four girls on four different continents. What they all had in common was the fragile condition of their extreme poverty. Secret was born in Liberia, Noelia in Bolivia, Alaishri in India and Daniela, the daughter of an undocumented immigrant, in Sweden. Now, 10 years later, we return to see what their lives are like and to find out about the circumstances of their respective families and countries. Will they have managed to leave behind the difficulties into which they were born?
