Anna, a single mom secretly battling alcoholism, must face her old friend Virginia, a seemingly happy mother, with whom she shares an unsettling past as her son Adam becomes the victim of bullying at school. While suffering psychological blackmail from Virginia, Anna's struggle to maintain custody of her son leads her to Jake, a controlling sober alcoholic offering help. When the bully is revealed, Anna and Virginia are forced to confront their past, causing an unexpected tragedy that will shatter their worlds.
