After the fire

After the Fire is a searing, socio-political drama set in a contemporary London reeling from the aftermath of an avoidable tragedy. Miles has lost everything in the fire, including his beloved daughter. As a taxi driver on a zero-hours contract, he is at the mercy of a system rife with class division, in a community assailed by indignities. The film traces his journey as he tries to find his way back to a life which has meaning. He is a man on the edge and it is only a matter of time before he will break. Finally, he will find himself on trial, which will bring societal inequity into sharp focus, reminding us of the glaring, ironic contradictions of Britain.
